Prosecuting Maduro family

So now that Maduro is out does that mean the Venezuelan’s in US should now be deported back? Their claims to be in US from Maduro’s persecution are no longer valid.

Bondi’s DOJ is famously incompetent as a prosecutor. What will happen with this? (“Miss me yet?” Prosecutor Kamala Harris must be thinking!)

US Attorney General Pam Bondi who says that Maduro and his wife have been indicted in the Southern District of New York.
Maduro, she says, has been charged with "Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices, and Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices against the United States".
"They will soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts," Bondi adds but does not say what his wife has been charged with.

But SECOND AMENDMENT!

Machine guns have been illegal here since the 1930s

It’s NY. They’ll acquit

Is it illegal for US government? Is it illegal in Venezuela for the Venezuelan government to have machine guns? What a ridiculous statement. Any jury is going to say no to this.

Well then why didn't the Trump admin send the case to a sympathetic-to-Trump state like, say, Florida?

When did Maduro come to the US and possess a machine gun?

Multiple sources who reviewed the Maduro indictment document and the one for the Honduran leader Trump pardoned have noted how similar the charges are. Even the charging agency is the same in each case--the SDNY. Both men are accused of:

*abusing governmental power as head of state to facilitate massive cocaine importation into the US (hundreds of tons), in exchange for bribes enriching themselves and allies.

*cocaine importation conspiracy and firearms offenses (possession/conspiracy involving machine guns/destructive devices in furtherance of drug trafficking).

No doubt Maduro's lawyer will point out these similarities--and the fact that the Honduran leader was subsequently pardoned by Trump for similar charges.

More charges coming. Apparently the kidnapping of Maduro is illegal. So Trump will charge him with being in the country illegally. Brilliant.

Maybe Maduro will end up opening a sandwich shop with the guy that threw the sub in DC.

Not illegal to own. They are just heavily restricted to the point of being insanely expensive. It’s essentially the same model we should follow with semi-automatic weapons next, starting with semi-auto long guns and high capacity magazines. Nothing gets banned, but it does create an ever shrinking pool over time that is available to fewer and fewer people. The second amendment remains in tact.

Ta da.

What about all of the drug production facilities? Surely they have found those!

Just as soon as the El Salvadorans fleeing gangs return.

They can call it Ham Sandwich after they fail to get an indictment in this one too.

Former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez freed from prison after Trump pardons drug trafficking conviction

Sounds like they have this figured out:

Phase 1: Arrest world leader
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit

LOL. Yes, this exactly.

Pardon is a personal act that removes an individual from jurisdiction, and has no legal connection to anything outside the people who were pardoned. Trump pardoned the Honduran leader individually, not a class of people like when he vaguely pardoned "everyone who raided the Capitol on Jan 6 2021" .
