That amazing insurance you have won't be there forever. And if you think you can just switch job to get a better insurance you won't find any because they will all be expensive.

It amazes that people who think they have great insurance today will be the case forever.

Are you speaking this prophecy into existence? There is not guarantee any of what you said will happen.

Not only will it not be the case forever, it might not even be the case for long. At all.

The ignorance is strong on DCUM.

Yep. Be ready for a new era when they give you cash and ask you to figure it out.

It exists for every single person who loses their job and struggles to find a new one (i.e., our current "golden age" economy). There is nothing secure about any white collar job that provides such insurance.

Welcome to trump’s America.
It’s going to get worse.

I know DCUM don't like to go to dirty and polluted Delhi....but there is excellent and affordable medical care in India. We love to get all our routine (and not so routine) medical care done there.

I wouldn’t say nobody. There are actually US health plans that will pay for you and one other to travel to India or Panama to have non-emergency surgery. The affiliated hospitals are all doctors trained in the US or Europe and they are first class facilities…much nicer than most US hospitals. They pay for a very nice hotel for like 2 weeks.

They still save a ton vs paying US healthcare charges.

Why do we accept this as Americans??

starbucks, only have to work 20 hours a week to get medical, and they have a 401K they match on. That is not many hours. I used to work 20 hours all during college. Giving starbucks by my house is open 5am to 9pm most days. Pretty easy to do 20 hours even with a full time job.

If you have employer insurance, it’s easy to feel like this is someone else’s problem. But small business entrepreneurs are getting nailed. Our BCBS Maryland plan (ACA compliant but we don’t get a subsidy) went up $250/month this year. We can afford it, but if it had happened in the earlier years of our business it would have been a big consideration as far as sticking with it.
