Couldn't be said any better!! |
Sophisticated side ponytails. I know three girls from Sidwell and two of them always wear this hairstyle I thought went out in the 80s. I'm shallow, I know, but what's with that? |
It's obviously making a come back. |
I always expect and have found Big 3 students to be polite. |
I think, "must be a nice kid!" |
A recent poll by Sam2 on who posts here found that about half of posters were from big 3s. (I haven't checked results since I filled out the poll myself, but that's what I remember.) This may impact the responses here. |
More accurately, the results indicated that half the people who took the poll claimed to be associated with the "Big 3"?
The relationships between poll-takers and posters, truth and self-representation, each poster's definition of "Big 3" and anyone else's are all unknown. |
GDS/Sidwell - cool and well traveled. Hang out with Field/GDS. Urban slick. DC version of : http://tv.nytimes.com/2009/06/23/arts/television/23prep.html Maret - normal spread of kids. Parents chose a coed private for young children. Potomac, Bullis in town. STA/NCS - normal spread of kids. Parents/kids chose SS with coed twist. Larger venue/sending area than Maret/Sidwell/GDS. Holton-Visi-normal spread of kids. Parents/kids chose SS Landon/Prep/Gonzaga - normal spread of kids. Parents/kids chose SS Normal spread means there is no dominant type. Some are Sidwellian, some jocks, some scholar athletes, some artsy, some nerds, some hos, some bros. Overall I think must be a quality kid if they got entrance despite not having important parents or connections. |
Haven't seen many fashionistas at GDS, LOL! |
someone has kids at GDS but wishes they went to Sidwell. |
tatterdemalians, more like it |
Nah -- someone has kids at GDS and therefore feels qualified to comment on how kids who go to school there dress, but refrains from commenting on the wardrobe choices of children at schools whose campuses she doesn't visit regularly. |
Not the PP, but GDS parent with strong Quaker affiliation who believes that GDS embodies more Quaker values than Sidwell these days (including the way children dress). |

This is pretty inaccurate. |
