Eric Holder for DC Mayor?

I feel like Fenty and maybe Tony Williams were a bit closer to this. Definitely Fenty. Gray and definitely Bowser were in it for the wrong reasons. Bowser in particular has such an ego, it's really disheartening. I'd take another Marion Barry over another Bowser, I think she's been such a disaster.

How do we find and recruit another Fenty?

Fenty looked to benefit his Frat brothers. We do not need another him.

Did you hear that from him or someone close to him? There have got to be former Obama people in DC who can encourage him to do it… he’d win in a landslide, so I think the job is basically his if he wants it.

He isn't running.

Okay I hear you saying this... but what's your source that he wouldn't consider? He wanted the job after being US Attorney for DC...

He’s older now. Priorities change.

LOL Fenty was , uh, not clean. There was a reason he was only one term.

I wish Robert White was running for mayor instead of delegate

I don't think you realize how corrupt Fenty was. He handed out city contracts to his former fraternity brothers who set up bogus companies and then subcontracted the work to legit contractors while taking their cut off the top. The only positive was that unlike Marion Barry's corruption, work like rehabbing city recreation centers actually did get done, albeit at far too high costs.
Tony Williams was hands down the best mayor DC has had. Eric Holder would immediately have my vote.

I agree that Fenty was no Tony Williams, but I recall the city agencies functioned well while he was major. My hope is we can get someone who can get the agencies working properly (I'm looking at you, DPW) without progressive nonsense or the corruption often tied to the "old guard."

What's stupid? Isn't the primary responsibility of a mayor as the city's chief executive to ensure the agencies are running well and the city is managing their finances properly? On top of that you have things like constituent services and working well with the feds and neighboring states, but running the city well is first and foremost in my mind.

I agree with you. Unfortunately some people see everything, and I mean every single thing, through the prism of their Trump hatred.

Either that or their Trump love, so 3/4 of the country is obsessed with him, albeit for different reasons.

DC hasn’t had a good mayor since Marion Berry.

Clearly you didn’t live in DC in the 80s. It was pretty rough

Lived in DC from 1978-83. Felt safer then than I do now going into work in DC today.

It’s rough now in certain areas. At least Marion was for the people. He really cared and was entertaining. DC today has zero personality, definitely need a change from the staid and boring corporate types.
