| Vassar and Oberlin sound great |
| I would look at Trinity College in CT. The teaching is really first rate and the campus is beautiful. Kids are sporty smart, but not a grind school. |

Agree with Vassar as fitting requirement for intellectual vibe and pretty campus.
What do people think about Hamilton or Colgate? Isn’t Hamilton known for writing? |
DS also wanted strong academics but a more laid back vibe. He's going to Middlebury. Didn't look at most of the others on this list. Did look at Kenyon, didn't like it, but then he's not into lit/writing. |
Hamilton is great for Williams/Amherst rejects |
No W&M isn't a liberal arts college but it has those vibes. My kids looked there in addition to LACs. |
What didn’t he like? Kenyon and Middlebury seem pretty similar unless he’s an Econ bro. |
Colorado College Lafayette Denison Dickinson Middlebury Colby Bates Conn College St Lawrence |
He's into Econ but definitely not a Bro. Middlebury is in a gorgeous Vermont area with mountains all around, a charming village and its own ski area. Facilities were really really nice. Kenyon had the worst dorms we saw anywhere, campus was not that great, and it's in a med location in Ohio. |
Middlebury is much more prestigious. No one's choosing Kenyon over Midd - if they can get into Midd. |
| Look into Hamilton for its available public policy program; Washington, D.C. term with associated internships; and notable writing programs. |
Agree on Carleton |
| Union College, NY |
Good thing no one was talking about prestige! |
