Different poster but my older kid 2024 was rejected too from UVa with a 4.1w and good extracurriculars, etc, and alumni parents. Also not surprised by the rejection. Kid is thriving at an OOS public w a great merit scholarship that puts total COA at $40k so the same as UVA. All this to say, it worked out fine. |
| Are these EDs or EAs? I thought EA doesn't come out yet? |
Would you mind sharing stats? |
UVA - private. I have to stay, it definitely stung but almost easier to move on rather than hanging on during the deferral process. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself
|
ED came out this past week |
You dodged a bullet. NYC is going from bad to worse soon, despite what the naive useful idiots are posting here. |
YES!!!! The deferral road to nowhere really, really sucks. Take it from someone who watched their kid waste emotional energy for a whole year on another school last year. Good luck to your child. It really seems to work out in the end. |
| Daughters friend out at Fordham too with 3.6/1390. It’s tough out there. Just have to cast a wide net these days |
My DD also |
| Amherst. Very high stats kid. Knew it was a tough admit so not totally surprised, but disappointed. The only one we know of admitted is a recruited athlete. Trying to decide whether to ED2 Bowdoin, Rice, or Chicago or just RD everywhere. |
This was my oldest two years ago. Even though we all knew it was a tough admit, it was still such a blow to his confidence and he ended up submitting so many apps after that. Just want to say that my kid ended up doing better than I could have imagined in the RD round - got into a couple peers of Amherst, an Ivy, and a top state school. So you really don't know. |
No it is not. Shut up. NYU is a great school. |
I have started to think that all the anti-Northeast schools and cities and pro-SEC schools and lifestyle are from people trying to eliminate competition. |
100+ |
In this case though I suspect it’s an anti-Mandami conservative troll. Don’t pay them any mind. |
