I think the definite YES early apps don't get Q1 request, but perhaps Q1 grades are asked for other compelling applicants that an AO wants to advocate for in committee, to bolster their position?

Other schools have mentioned that once they determine a kid has the academic stats, other factors seem to be the deciding factor so not sure for Princeton why some early accepted applicants receive the Q1 request and others don't.

It's probably a check to make sure they're taking the classes they said they're taking and maintaining their grades which means they would also check the definite yes apps too (?)

Yes. Princeton includes financial aid decision with acceptance

From a mom with 3 (yes 3!) Princeton kids, good luck to everyone!

And don't sweat it if you face a deferral. 2/3 of my kids were deferred early. All unhooked. Such a fantastic school. Good luck everyone.

DC got rejected Princeton early action. Sibling attended. No Q1 grade request.

If sophomore and junior grades are great, do you need perfect grades in 9th grade for Princeton or can you have a couple B+/A-?
