You should and say you were joking. I know you won't but just imagine it and you'll feel better. |
Just stop. |
OP here again. Yeah I admit it’s a sensitive topic for me as I need to stay employed and we live in an ageist culture. When my teenaged kid calls me old i laugh because I could care less. But seriously what’s so humorous about calling someone old? Would it have been funny if I called him fat (which he is). No-it would have been mean, unprofessional and offensive. |
You’re the one making “old” a bad thing. |
The previous poster did not mention contempt for women. What are you talking about? |
OP wasn’t treated “less than”. |
Look at the earlier quotes. |
Which likely came from someone else. A different poster probably said stop to the immature poster trying to start something with the humorless line. |
Your comments show contempt for people. Work on yourself. |
|
Old is relative! Old always stays ahead of you.
Teens would think he is an old guy |
Seems like you’re having trouble following. Maybe ask one of the “kids” from work for help. |
I have contempt for people who constantly manufacture grievances. |
It's late. Go to bed. Stop calling your coworkers old. Be a better person. Good night. |
Maybe I can help since I'm under 40. On this site many people make comments and you can't tell who said what. You think you are insulting a different poster than you are. Hope that helps. I know technology can be hard. |

Im 50. I don’t mind being called old necessarily, but I also wouldn’t like being grouped in as “old ladies” by a young person at work.
But what’s worse than being an old lady? Probably being a humorous old lady. Now he’ll just call you a Karen. |
