Where can I find good cookie recipes?

These are one of my favorites. Use high quality ingredients. If you use hersheys cocoa, you get hersheys results.

The recipe called for half butter and half oil for a supposedly chewier texture. I think the bigger difference was that it only called for 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp vanilla as the spice - vs 1 tsp cinnamon and some nutmeg in the classic Quaker Oats recipe.

Oil does not make cookies chewy

Oil makes cookies dry and greasy.

Don't ever use oil in cookies. Only use butter.

If the recipe says oil, substitute the same amount of butter.

Op here. I am not experienced enough with cookie baking to make many modifications other than maybe adding some different spices or maybe subbing in Fra Angelico instead of vanilla!

Try Kenji Lopez-Alt's Food Lab chocolate chocolate chip cookies on the Serious Eats website

I just bought silpats through sally. I hope she gets a kickback. Her recipes are the bomb.

Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook. The best.
Just put baking soda into oatmeal raisin cookies, not a lot of baking powder like the new ones say. That part they changed from their old editions; these cookies do not need baking powder, other than a pinch.

I also like Sally's Baking Addiction though. I also like Love and Lemons. There are some good cookie recipes from Deb Perlman (on her site, Smitten Kitchen, and in some of her cookbooks).

My favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe is the Virginia Brown Butter Cookie recipe from this cookbook, contributed by my Criminal Law professor: https://19thamendmentcookbook.com/cookbook/cookbook.pdf

What a gem of a cookbook, thank you!!

I am a big Sally’s fan, and Butternut Bakery! My favorite (and one of the easiest) chocolate chip cookie recipe of all time is from Butternut. I make them easily twice a month.

I wanted to thank you for introducing me to Broma Bakery. The recipes are a bit unconventional but you absolutely cannot argue with the results. Probably some of the best tasting cookies I have made so far.

Yes. She's so great. Never had a bad recipe from her.

The best thing about the NYT recipes are the comments. If you wade through a few, you get a good idea of what if any tweaks need to be made to make the recipe work.
