Nah, probably under 40 and white. Almost every white person over 40 knows who Marilyn is. Not surprising that the ICE goons have never seen Northern Exposure and are judging people by their skin color. It's unlawful and disgusting. |
Local law enforcement does NOT have quotas. Those are a major no no in law enforcement circles because they lead officers to make bad arrests to make their quotas. ICE does have quotas (now under Trump) because Noem and Trump don’t give a crap about making unlawful arrests — they just want a talking point for their Social media accounts. |
I’m 47. I’ve literally never heard of Marilyn. I’ve never seen that woman in any other show and I didn’t watch Northern Exposure. |
Ok. Most of us on the over 40 age group watched Northern Exposure. Sorry you missed it. It was on from 1990-1996 and then in reruns. |
| Literal who from literal what? |
What a truly stupid comment. Has this person been in anything recently (like last ten years) that many people would have seen? Probably not. Take your race baiting elsewhere. DP |
+1 I'm 57 and agree completely. |

I’ve never watched the actress but I also would not call an ID card fake when I am wearing a mask, not presenting a badge, not sharing my name, and not presenting my own ID.
ICE is stupid. She said they could call the number to verify her tribal relation. They refused. She then called the number, and ICE tried to steal her phone. Wtf. “Elaine Miles, an Indigenous actor, alleges that she was stopped by four masked men while she was walking to a bus stop in Redmond. She offered them her ID card from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Oregon but was told by an ICE agent that “anyone can make that.” Miles, who also appeared in The Last of Us, Smoke Signals, The Business of Fancydancing and Skins, told the ICE agents to call the tribal enrollment office number on the card. According to a report of the encounter by the Seattle Times, the officers refused. Miles called the office herself, whereupon one officer tried to take her phone but failed. Then the men released her and departed in their vehicles.” |
I'll take "things that didn't happen that way for $200 Alex!" |
| They didn’t try to deport her. They detained her and let her go. |
Also untrue. It did not have mass appeal. |
|
It goes to show ICE are made up of thugs and bullies with very small brains.
How horrible for her to be treated that way, and if anyone else bothers to read the article, members of her family have faced the same Shame on you posters who are sniping about age and watching some old tv show, that's not the point of the article at all. Grow a conscience. |
If members of her family have the same issue, why don't they get real ID cards? I'm all American but I still use my passport when I leave and re-enter the country. |
| I'm still getting over anyone thinking that the primary audience for Northern Exposure was not white people. |
And that everyone over 40 watched it. I’ve heard of it, but never watched it, don’t know the characters. Terrible this happened, though. |
