I'm on several non-nefarious group chats that started on Signal, or switched to it when WhatsApp became a zuckfsck. "Privacy concerns" extend beyond low-integrity people trying to hide their hookups.
Our local mutual aid group uses signal. It's not that deep. |
+1. Almost every advocacy/volunteer/activist groups are using signal now… as are savvy people who are concerned about privacy and the direction everything is going in (as we all should be). Heck, even the school group chats are on Signal now. |

You seem confused. We have Signal, Telegram and WhatsApp for group chats on both our phones. It’s a messaging tool. |

I use it to chat with a select few friends -- my husband and two closest friends. Don't remember why we switched from WhatsApp but it does feel less icky.
I'm still on WhatsApp for all the thousands of group chats. But my Signal conversations are my favorites. |
