| I would check your tire pressure more often than your oil, especially at this time of the year. Even if you have a TPMS. |
Welcome to the 21st century. Cars are now filled with little computers monitoring the status of every system. I literally get a text message when my tire pressure is low. If there's even a hint of a problem with the oil level or the engine, it lets me know before any damage has occurred. We are long past the days of daily oil checks on your hand-me-down Chevy Impala. |
I can absolutely get behind this advice. I have found that the TPMS doesn't kick in unless the tire pressure in one tire is substantially lower than the other three and it doesn't generally alert if the pressure goes down in every tire because the weather is cold. |
Yeah many people overlook it. Cause of so many accidents. |
| If you are going into trouble of checking oil levels check coolant levels as well, it is often too low and not topped off during service |
