My kids aren't that type. If they were, probably it would make me cringe.

My son could be one because he's sensitive, educated and has great sense of style. However, he's a chick magnet, so not cringe at all!

My boys pride themselves on not being performative or puppets. They aren't performative rebels or performative douchebags either.

People here spend a lot of time over analyzing boys. They’re fairly simple creatures. Don’t overthink it.

Like, a drag queen?

I do like the whole Macho Culture/jackass is going away though.

Well, it COULD be bower birds, where the males make pretty places to impress the female birds. That's the kind of male performativeness I could go for.

Would a performative male come to the aid of his girlfriend if another male was invading her space at a party?

I don't think my kids are performative males, but I think other people might see them that way. They certainly have gotten comments for making "female coded" choices. Both are tall athletic boys, who wouldn't hesitate to come to the aid of anyone (girlfriend or otherwise) who was having their space invaded.

Lol, you've watched too many episodes of Walking Tall. And yes, I expect you're that old.

As a boy who drank matcha and had female best friends, and who is now a father, I can tell you that these stereotypes are more about you than the men.

Also, OPs son is probably gay.

I have no idea what Walking Tall is, or matcha. Are you a performative male?
