DH falls asleep on the couch every weekend day watching sports.

I mean, let's face it, you probably don't let him get away without doing his part. He gets a few winks in and you come barreling at him like he's evil incarnate. Really, what is the big deal after all???

You sound like a sexist. And yes, before you bother being predictable, you can be a sexist even if you’re a woman.

Okay. Here's a non-sexist term for the OP: Control Freak

This. And it’s also normal to be annoyed especially, if like most of us, you’re spending the day doing laundry and grocery shopping.

It takes you all day to do laundry and grocery shop? Are you an invalid?

Maybe normal but I would find it annoying and unattractive, OP.

Likely sleeping to avoid being nagged all the time. For op and pp.

He has ADHD or on the spectrum and is sleeping off the burnout. Or he drinks too much at night.

My sister in law naps every day...I kept telling her to get herself checked but she insists her whole family has always napped. I think some people are just nappers. Look at the countries with a siesta!

Sleep is a great choice of how to spend time - very important for physical and mental health.

Honestly, sounds like heaven. I love putting on a football game on Sunday afternoon and just dozing through it. It's very relaxing. Sometimes I'll make bread or soup at the same time, but those recipes involve a lot of downtime. This is what Sunday is for, to me. I work very hard during the week and there is so much activity with school and extracurriculars.

My DH doesn't like lying around the house on the weekend though. He usually talks me into going out and being more active. But sometimes I tell him I need a lie in day and he'll accept it and leave me be. One of our kids is also a homebody and I'll stay home with her and DH will take the more active kid out for activities.

I wish I was a napper, I admire this quality in others. I am actually better at napping on the couch while there is a sporting event or movie I've seen before on TV, because they will distract my brain while also letting it relax, and that can help me fall asleep. Otherwise it is often hard for me to calm my thinking down enough to actually nap.

My dad would do this every Sunday. Great guy, just died last year in his 80s. The rest of the time he was either working or being a good dad/husband. It was his one little indulgence and I love that he had it. In high school I’d lie on the floor in front of the fireplace doing homework while he dozed on the couch watching football and sometimes would fall asleep too. Embrace some lazy weekend days!

It sounds heavenly. You should join him sometime. So invigorating to take a nap on occasion. Just try it!

He could be low in B12

Honestly this works so well that there's a podcast of boring fake baseball games to put on while you fall asleep: https://www.sleepbaseball.com/

Sounds like a stereotype. But there’s a reason the stereotype exists.

Isn’t napping on the couch on the weekend completely the most normal thing to do?

You don’t nap on your couch on the weekend?
