DH falls asleep on the couch every weekend day watching sports.

Different people do different things with their weekends. Why is that so hard to imagine?

Very normal. Just like how I fall asleep as soon as DH puts a movie on I agreed to watch. The games are so late. Starts at 10pm here.

It is fairly common that one partner wants to be active and make the most of the weekend while the other wants to stay home and relax. When the active partner is the man the woman is supposed to suck it up and go with the flow. When the lazy partner is the man the woman is also supposed to suck it up and go with the flow.

That's what I'd be doing if I didn't have a weekend job. You're supposed to relax if you're lucky enough to afford to.

Normal, he's exhausted.

I love a good sports nap. Baseball and golf are top tier, football works fine. Basketball is a last resort, too much shoe squeaking.

It's boring, and possibly thoughtless, but not necessarily abnormal.

My DH does the same and it bothers me because he has wormed out of every other activity with our SN teen aside from "watching football together", and teen tells me he doesn't even care if his dad is there anymore because he's asleep the whole time.

Meanwhile DH has a thriving side life where he socializes and plays tennis in most of the rest of his free time. Yes, I've suggested he teach DS. He made a half hearted attempt for a while and then gave up.

So, yeah, if he's getting other stuff done, nbd. But if this is supposed to be your time together or he's slacking on chores, then it's annoying. I mean, what would happen if you spent the same amount of time on the weekend in bed reading a book?

We’re wrapping out of the house by 8 AM for sports. We are back by noon. And then we turn on football take naps on the couch. And then we take showers and go out with friends.

OR….hear me out….he’s just tired and likes naps. I love dozing on the couch on a lazy weekend day.

I can't believe all the lazy people on this area. You should be out volunteering or protesting. /s

Football is boring. One day men will admit it and stop falling asleep watching it!

Most of us do not get enough sleep at night.

That was my dad. It took decades to figure out he had (mild) sleep apnea.
