This looks to be exactly whats being setup to occur. https://x.com/usmntonly/status/1984794201763299450 |
More likely to work fire mens team but when it comes to soccer...Americans dint watch men's soccer.. they have football |
U have eggball which is dumb af as u throw it wit the hand. Also, NFL is registered as entertainment org so fixing and rigging games is legal. You’re not watching a serious “sport” UsOFAmerica is backwards |

| USL will put both NWSL and MLS out of business |
Once Americans get a taste of soccer with no salary caps and pro/rel it will make things much more interesting. MLS is ok but because of salary caps the best of the best arent competing. If you're going to bet on something its more exciting when the highest levels of talent are involved. Actually just all around a sport is more exciting to watch when the best players are playing. How cool would it be if rich guys like Elon spent their money to win a trophy instead of playing politics. Either way it doesnt matter to him. |
| NWSL will never be outdone by USL. USL can't get good talen or more than 300 folks to a game. |
Again, since you're just repeating what you said before I'll do the same. USL can definitely outdo both MLS and NWSL. Here's an example, say 20 rich guys are being boxed out of MLS or NWSL by high franchise fees. Whats to stop them from just working together buying all the best talent and out fielding both with higher levels of talent and playing in USL. Even more scary for MLS and NWSL is once implemented whats to stop EPL from buying out USL. Americans have no idea what mountains of money with no limitstions can do to soccer. |
sorry, but you are wrong about everything here - sorry if you can't overcome your bias to see it, but there's a reason the NFL is top in the US. |
Again.. can we stick to women's sports for a second? Do you know what the W stands for? |
Oh sorry, you must have missed where I wrote both MLS and NWSL. |
|
I get it. Having a closed league, such as NWSL and MLS, do limit competition...
An uncapped league, with fear of being relegated, makes sense. The problem that the only uncapped league in the US has today, and that's MLB, is that there is no fear of loosing out of the golden goose of playing at the top level. Owners like Bob Nutting of the Pittsburgh Pirates field teams that have 1/5 the payroll of the World Series winning Dodgers and are still making bank. So, promotion, relegation. Uncapped salaries. Sounds good. Now for the women's side. Yeah, it's a long road for USL SL to get there. They kinda started at the top with the Super League and have a strong summer league with the USL-W, but are lacking the middle. Whereas the men's side already has a pretty large network of teams in USLC, USL1, the summer league USL2 and then now their new first division. Just curious, because I never really thought about it, what are all those players in leagues outside of the top level EPL doing besides soccer? Does it pay enough or is a side hustle needed if you are playing in EFL League one, which on their pyramid is the equivalent of the USL1. Gosh, looking at the EFL men's pyramid, there's a lot of teams! |
| A lot of the women on USL have part time jobs to supplement income. The avg salary is about 40k. They only have games about every 2 weeks so there is a TON of down time. |
Oh sorry.. your focus on hockey and football examples threw the discussion off the rails. |
Ahh, I see where you're stupid. I didn't mention anything about hockey or football. I did mention "franchise fees". This means you likely don't understand that both MLS and NWSL are setup like the NFL and NHL. The league basically owns everyone and clubs pay a franchise fee to be part of the club. EPL and other leagues are different. Clubs are their own business and can choose to play in whoatever league they want. They are not franchises of EPL league. Because clubs arent controlled by EPL league they can implement whatever they want to win each game including paying players whatever it takes to get them to play on their team. This is what makes EPL exciting. Theres no limits on anything when it comes to competition and $$$. |
