In another era, you would be fighting to shutter the automotive factories in order to preserve the livelihood of horse carriage drivers.

Does this logic work for green technology vs oil & gas?

We live in your head 24/7. Every policy from Dear Leader is designed to punish liberals.

A president cannot legally stop the advancement of technology. Our government can enact laws that incentivize business models that are counter to implementing this business models and promote retaining people as employees. When you gain a basic understanding of how the government actually works perhaps your feelings will change.

It blows my mind that you believe Biden did this, all on his own, and you are outraged by it, when in fact he did not unilaterally do anything remotely close to this. The guy in the WH now does stuff like this everyday, are you outraged by it? Do you even understand it?

Now they will do it and pretend somehow it's because of the shutdown and the democrats fault even though USDA has reserve funds to keep SNAP going and even though there was never a stop in SNAP assistance during previous shutdowns.

They are out there claiming ACA caused insurance costs to go up but what have Republicans ever done to fix healthcare costs? ACA came out 15 years ago, Republicans have had all that time since and numerous opportunities to come up with something better, but have utterly failed to come up with anything at all. So now the subsidies will go away and that WILL cause many peoples' insurance to go up significantly and STILL the Republicans have no proposal to fix it.

Their answer and entire approach seems to be "do nothing, get rid of government intervention and trust the market" - but the market only cares about profits, not people. And history proves this out, time and time again. The market doesn't care if the poor starve or go without healthcare. There's no money to be made off of the poor. There's no market incentive.

This. Let's see how many people realize this and vote accordingly in a couple of weeks.

Why do Dems need to stop this? MAGA is all for AI -- that's Trump's pet project. You voted for this, so if you don't actually want it better to ask MAGA what they plan to do about it? Not to mention how much water it uses and Trump has no plan for it, so wait till people go thirsty so they can power AI. They don't care about you or me.

I do feel bad for your kids - they didn’t choose this. But if you are a republican voter/MAGA who voted for Trump and use SNAP or ACA or work for the government - how could you? Do you think voting against your own self interest was smart? These things only matter when it affects you directly right?

To quote Judge Judy, "Dumb is forever.". Voting for trump in 2016 is forgivable but voting for him on 2024 then you get everything you deserve.

There were alternatives. I have friends who are Reagan Republicans and they either wrote in a candidate or did not vote for President.

Is it any president's job to stop a private company from running more efficiently?

I have never had any sympathy or empathy for the ignorance and stupidity of MAGA. They will end up devouring themselves.

Awwww, OP. Don’t fool yourself. You never had sympathy/empathy for Republican voters to begin with

And at this point, we don’t care.

“Lost”? As if you had any to begin with???

We see you.

All of them except Fetterman, apparently

OP - your viewpoint is not helpful for winning the next election.

+1

Voting for Trump in 2016 and Biden in 2020 were forgivable mistakes but anyone who was duped into voting for Trump again in 2024 branded themselves with an idiot label for life.

Which House Speaker is going to bring his members back to Washington to work on a compromise?
