This isn’t cyclical. This is Trump choosing to trash the VA economy.

+1 Isn't 40% of Virginia's economy Fed or Fed adjacent? FAFO.

Are there any downsides?

I guess you're fine with having widespread unemployment and an economic crisis as long as you can hire your day laborers for cheaper. Stay classy.

If Democrats had voted for the CR none of this would be happening.

They don’t even need to vote for the CR, they simply need to not filibuster it. 4 years ago, the filibuster was racist and needed to be eliminated, anyway.

If Republicans had opted to continue health care subsidies that millions of Americans depend on to stay healthy and productive, rather than enacting tax cuts for billionaires and spending 40 billion dollars to bail out the hedge funders who bet on banana republic Argentina, none of this would be happening.

Covid subsidies can’t continue in perpetuity. The pandemic is over.

What the right level is should be a matter of conversation, but not as a hostage negotiation.

Schumer is in a trap rn with no way out. His main concern is fending off an AOC primary challenge.

In a growing economy they would find other jobs. Unfortunately, this is killing the local economy. When you fire white collar workers, many other jobs are affected. We are now in a race to the bottom.

Pretty sure GDP "growth" in Virginia will be negative by next year.

But the temporary Trump tax cuts for the wealthy can continue?
