Why is "triggering the libs" so important to conservative identity?

I grew up dirt poor, my father was bipolar and alcoholic, my parents split up and he drank himself to death and died young, so I was raised by a single mom. There were times when I was broke and living out of my car, but I worked my ass off, sometimes 2 and 3 part time jobs, I did side hustles, I managed to put myself through college and ended up climbing a career ladder to be successful, own a home, raised a family and am now putting my kid through grad school, and have enough in investments to retire.

That said, I constantly see this stupid nihilism, this "burn it all down" bullshit, this moronic kneejerk attitude of breaking things just because "it will make the libs upset" and it really pisses me off. I worked hard for what I have. Damn hard. And I'm damn thankful for having a country that provided the infrastructure and the stability and opportunities and things that let me succeed and crawl out of a hole of poverty.

But here these MAGA morons want to just break everything and burn everything down and turn America into some kind of third world backwater because they don't know how to govern, and don't care, because if libs are upset it's somehow "good." They don't actually even understand why people are upset. It reminds me of the movie Gremlins where they destroy valuable things, just because. I swear they'd beat their own heads bloody against a brick wall if it got someone upset. Most idiotic crap ever.

Sarcasm aside, the answer to your question is that we don’t live in a direct democracy. Instead of “which side has smarter voters” it’s more like “which side has wealthier donors” and “which side owns more voting machines”.

It really is hilarious that they stick to this narrative of being so smart, when reality disabuses them daily. Not only are they losing elections, they are losing them because they insist on doing stupid things to lose them.

Then you have DC itself, where they have an absolute super-majority and hammer lock on power. You'd think it would be some sort of utopia, but instead you get a run-down city that can barely run a school system or provide public safety.

Exactly. Breaking and smashing things just to get a reaction. Opposing things just because Democrats support them, even though it had been supported by Republicans previously. Opposing things the country needs just because the Democrats support it.
