Greasy fried food is bad for health. 100%. But it doesn't make me feel anything when I eat it. |
Processed food is crap and makes most adults feel crappy. |
Pedantic-ism is better than Galenism. |
No, they don’t. Most people feel happy and satisfied after eating processed food. That is why they sell and why they are dangerous. |
Toxic in what way? What does toxic mean? What do all preservatives have in common to cause harm? |
| I have always tried to eat healthy but to be honest, I have never felt any different eating junk vs healthy foods. I wonder if this is psychological for some people. Too bad they can't do a blind taste test for this since you can obviously tell what you are eating. |
+1 Our feelings don't always tell what is good and healthy, with food, and with life in general actually. |
I mean, bread, wine, milk, cheese are all processed foods. They don’t make me feel like crap? |
Not me, which is why I mostly avoid it. Agree with OP. |

I grew up abroad eating different foods, but it was the sugar that got me here at 18. I started to put on weight even thought I was still active. I ate whatever the host family ate, but also all their fruits.
Highly processed foods get to me now in late 40s. My knees and stomach hurt within 30 minutes. White bread or white flour are the worst. I have to use organic flour for pancakes. The worst is that I think of my next meal as I'm eating processed food/junk food. Not happy about that at all. I noticed it because it doesn't happen when I go back home and eat their diet. Not even McDonalds there makes me thing about my next meal as I eat. |

My diet is pretty clean, with most of my meals prepared at home and from scratch. However, this was not always the case. I attribute being older, knowing better, and subsequently doing better to the change.
I very rarely eat fast food. I don't think I've gone to McDonald's in a few years. I think when you start consistently eating better, your body frowns on anything falling too far outside of your new norm. Another factor that plays into my diet is my obsession with cleanliness. I assume a lot of people don't wash their hands, and they don't cover their mouths and hair. I worry about unclean habits/germs, but I trust myself the most to ensure my food is prepared properly. |
| Processed foods and artificial sweeteners can raise inflammation in joints and muscles. They can also damage the microbiome in the gut; the good bacteria in the colon to digest carbs, proteins and fats properly. Finally, they make your liver work overtime, because they're unnatural, so it doesn't know how to process them. |
| Absolutely, yes. I couldn’t survive on junk. |
| We stopped eating fast food in our 30s. In our 40s and 50s we noticed mass market restaurant food (Cheesecake Factory, Outback, etc.) make us feel off...the salt, chemicals, "flavorings," alliums they stick in to make blad food "yummy." We only eat at home or high end restaurants. |
| More apples, tea, lean beef and chicken and less Twinkies, soda, store bought pizza and chips. |
