I don’t want the refund - given the way revenue is likely tank next year why not keep reserves?

However it shouldn't have been collected in the first place if it's a surplus.

Wouldn't this be very hard to implement prospectively?

I can't believe this is even a question.

No.

Implement was a poor choice of words. I meant predict. A surplus of this magnitude was unexpected.

You can see what came in vs. the forecasts in the news release. "Fiscal Year 2025 revenues exceeded the Chapter 725 forecast by $572.0 million (1.9%)." That's well within a reasonable variance from expected. It would be worse to come in under and be short revenue, so I don't see how it could have been not collected in the first place.

This was how I felt with the ones under Bush from the Fed.

The smaller one got sent to a scholarship fund in honor of my sorority sister who passed from leukemia her senior year.

The general assembly found virginia significantly underfunds school. Why not use the extra money to meet the state constitution and address the JLARC study? Oh I know, he’s trying to buy votes.

Democrats in VA legislature also approved this. It was bi-partisan.

+10000

Remember when Youngkin wanted to **cut** school budgets but the GA had to fix that?

I'm happy about the $400 back. I'm not going to try and mold this into a bad thing like some other people are.

Then why is Youngkin acting like this is his doing?

He's not. That's just in your head.

Why? Is your son a creep that enjoys invading woman's shower locker room areas?

OP thanks Youngkin for the rebate and links to a Youngkin press release that doesn’t mention the General Assembly at all. (Did you even read the press release??) He is obviously taking sole credit for it.

NP. The reason I’m voting for Spanberger, after voting for Youngkin four years ago, is that I’m fed up with MAGA’s bullshit. Now that I see that it’s infested the entire Republican Party, they will not get one vote from me as long as Trumpublicanism (which is neither Republican nor conservative) is the order of the day. And this one bathroom/locker room issue, which I happen to side with Sears on, is not enough to dissuade me from seeing the bigger picture.

Is that clear?
