Why is the rightwing media sphere obsessed with contrasting "tough" conservatives with "fearful" liberals?

Ditto Stockholm, Copenhagen, and almost every city in Europe and Asia.

But you see it’s not “tough” to want to live in an actual First World Country that prioritizes safety and security so you don’t have to worry about your wife getting thrown on the tracks or sexually assaulted on the Metro.

You should just deal with all the thugs and crazy people on the Metro without complaining. Wanting your family to be safe and a better life is problematic and isn’t “tough.” Don’t you get it?

Does toughness mean being able to dish out suffering?

Or does it mean being able to endure suffering?

Maybe ask the people who stormed Normandy. I’m sure they’d define toughness as not caring about allowing people who would have been locked in mental asylums in the 40s to ride freely on the Metro and to look the other way while so many people jump the turnstiles for free rides that they have to install 10 foot tall plastic doors on the fare machines. They’d mock people who cared about any of this for not being “tough.” I’m 100 percent sure of it.

Because they were raised by abusive men who didn’t show love and still desperately want dad’s validation. Tale as old as time.

In the Tokyo metro you get glared at for talking or taking a phone call. You're expected to just be completely silent. That's a bit too much social policing for me.

I don't get why our social norms can't draw a more acceptable line, between allowed to have a sip from your travel mug or water bottle on the train versus throwing your greasy chicken bones on the floor of the train?

Why is everything all or nothing? Why do the 1% of bad behaviors constantly spoil life for the rest of us?

Pretty sure the people who stormed Normandy would be more angry about the GOP openly flirting with the fascist policies they fought against than they would about turnstile jumping.

It's pretty laughable to claim that WWII vets (very few of whom are alive at this point) would support Trump and MAGA.

MAGA doesn’t know history. They have no idea why we fought WW II. The most you might get from one is “concentration camps”.

Trump is the King of Cowards. Funny that he said he could shoot someone on 5th Ave and get away with it. Nah bro, you never walked a mile without an entourage. His Maga cult are terrified of everything and everyone. They try to portray masculinity with their tatts, guns, and flags. They can’t get laid unless they force themselves on women and children. Women are the fastest-growing demographic of new gun owners in the United States. Emasculation ensues 🐈‍⬛🙀🐈ies

Do you seriously believe that they would be supporting today’s democrats of DEI, abolishing the police and ICE, no borders, and trans liberation over Trump, or are you simply trolling?

You are in a right wing propganda bubble. None of those things are real issues. Have some self-respect and learn about the world and its history. Stop letting people use you for profit.

Yeah the culture clash of the greatest generation vs their boomer children never happened! I mean the boomers had nothing conservative to rebel against because their parents had already fought for DEI, abolishing borders, and trans rights!

My great-uncle (who was at Normandy) used the GI Bill to go to college, eventually getting a PhD and becoming a professor. Before he died a few years ago he made it plain how he felt about Trump - it wasn't positive.

You’re forgetting that there was a draft in WWII. Soldiers came from all walks of life. In fact, throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s, veterans were more likely to identify as Democrats.

All those issues you noted are hysterical right wing caricatures, except for abolishing ICE. WWII vets would have recognized the similarities with the Gestapo.

Aren't you bored of these lies yet? There is zero question that WWII vets would be horrified at this current administration.
