My boss doesn’t follow the news at all. I find it disappointing at times. We work in a left leaning organized and he’s

Honestly I can relate to your boss wanting to focus on work instead of perseverating over something we can't do anything about. (And don't say we can protest, because those don't seem to be working.)

Same. And I work in a support role at a news organization. The news just stresses me out and there's not a thing I can do about it. I keep up with what's going on in my local community.

Is this your first job? Stop dragging your personal problems into the work place. These people aren't your friends.

Maybe he is secretly MAGA.

Try to imagine how you would feel if you had a Republican boss jabbering about politics all day in the office. Would that be appropriate?

Try to have a shred of intellectual integrity.

Op omg. I would have said he was MAGA. obviously. He’s super left leaning- as I mentioned in my post, and recent politics are connected to our work place

Op here. This may be what he’s doing. It just struck me because he is so left leaning and typically chats a lot about personal stuff AND some of what is going on recently indirectly impacts us at work. But on this, it’s like he’s got his head in the sand.

Well if you haven’t noticed, Trump has dragged politics into our work settings. Do you watch the news??

I know everyone will say the workplace is no place for politics etc, but I can’t help finding it odd, especially he’s a chatter box about other non work topics.

I guess everyone deals with this mess differently

This is just my observation, I don’t expect change

Talk is cheap. If it really bothers you, go find another job. Otherwise, STFU and carry out your duties.

I think you should STFU

+1. He's not as left-leaning as you think, or has had some sort of personal growth beyond that. He thinks you are insufferable, OP. I hope you're good at your job. You need to learn to keep your mouth shut.

There is no way I’d talk about politics at work.
Team boss.

Some people are like this, OP, and it has nothing to do with their political beliefs. So many Republicans do this on the regular and just vote for whoever is on the ticket. Which is why we are where we are...

Don’t talk politics at work. It’s trashy.

It’s always the least productive staff raising these stupid issues at work. Never fails.

I’d never engage my staff or coworkers in political discussions at work. How stupid are you?

Are you like 21 years old?

Adults don't talk politics at work.

It is rude and unprofessional.

Learn manners. You are being rude pushing this.

Most adults do not bring politics to work.
