I got one a few months ago and am happy with it. It was maybe $150 on Amazon? I don't use it that often because it's hard to type while on it (and sometimes I forget about it), but I can read while walking. It is very quiet at low speed (under 2 mph) but is a little noisier when it's going faster. It goes up to 6 mph I think, but only up to 4 if the handlebar is down (as it needs to be if it's under your desk). |
I dont, but one of my friends does. She recently posted that she's done 5k on it every work day for a year! It's only about an hour a day, so you can break it up between meetings.
If you're out of breath from a slow walk (as some pps mentioned) you should 100% get one of these. That sounds really unhealthy. |
Do not use it if you are on camera or off mute. They are so obnoxious. I have one co worker who uses it during meetings and its awful. Loud and distracting because she's bopping every where. She is not out of breath but sometimes her voice is disjointed.
If you have a job where you observe a lot of webinars or the like, it sounds great. |
It’s distracting for most tasks |
Few ppl pull this off. |
Surely this is something people can get past. A minor inconvenience at worst. We are living in a time when our president is upending the fabric of society and decency- feels like someone walking during a meeting should be pretty high on the tolerable scale given the current climate |
I bought a UREVO one with incline. They are around $400 but was on sale for about $350. I like it a lot for when I’m working on the computer. It’s quiet. You don’t walk fast. I usually am at a 2.0 pace. It adds up throughout the day. |
I think the posts above that say, not worth it bc you aren't getting your heart rate up, are not seeing the true benefit. Sitting is the new smoking and if walking at 2 mph for 2 hours a day gets you out of your chair then it is totally worth it. It's not for the workout, it's for the not sitting aspect of it (and it is better then just static standing for your spine). |
Absolutely. |
