Walking treadmill for WFH thoughts?

Anonymous
I work fully remotely and often stuck in meetings all day long. Got myself a standing desk and debating getting a walking treadmill, anyone here uses it and have recommendations?

I plan to only use it when my camera is off on calls

Thanks

I got one and then we went to cameras on so I rarely use it. FWIW I cannot read while walking on it, too much movement.

Walk and work out AFTER work. No one wants to hear you breathless on a call either.

Just because you're out of shape that doesn't mean OP is.

They’ll still be able to hear the machine and your extra breathing noises. Yuck.

better to walk outside, which I do on meetings where I know I am not going to have to talk.

We have a walking pad and it's fairly loud. You can really hear the steps taken and the beeping start up noise and shutdown noises.

It would be good to use if you are on mute and have your camera off, otherwise it will be distracting. Probably best for boring meetings you are mandated to attend but take no active part in, that sort of thing.

It's been good for my health, but I usually use it before or after work or on a break.

Fad. If you get one, just buy one on FB marketplace.

+1 gross! Totally inappropriate and unprofessional! Don't be a pig!

I know a lot of people who have them. They just get them off Amazon. The one I saw and picked up was not heavy - my friend said she probably walks a total of two hours a day on it.

To get the benefits from walking, you must get your heart rate up. The walking treadmill is similar to taking a stroll.

I do this on a regular treadmill with just an attachment for my laptop. I do this only on meetings where I do not have to speak, just be present. I also walk when replying to non-complex emails or doing general work housekeeping. I walk about 3mph and average 4 - 5miles per day while working, highly recommend it!

I have one I bought from Amazon. It weighs about 50 lbs so it wasn’t light to get up the stairs to my office. Max speed is 1.9mph so as someone said previously, it’s just a stroll. I wear a weighted vest when I walk on it. It’s too big and heavy to move under my desk and swap out with my desk chair so I’ll just use it for light movement. Definitely not on a call because it’s too noisy and we’re cameras on mostly.

That would be my goal. 50 mins as I watch TV at night and in between work if I can
