Curious behavior in my neighborhood—Any thoughts?

I have a neighbour that does the same! He just drives a short distance away, parks the car and sits in it. All day. Leaving the car running. I think they have a SN son and it seems like he just leaves the home and abandons the mom and child.

Maybe he works from home, feels cooped up so he takes a drive but is on a call in the car. Doesn’t think he’s bothering anyone at the field vs. parking in front of a house. I could see my DH doing something like this.

He's there so frequently my husband and I have a joke about it. "Oh, neighbour is working late again" when it's past 5 and hes still there. I feel bad for his family.

As a single person living alone, his home may feel empty and lonely. Maybe sitting at the field brings him comfort and delays his return to an empty house?
