Exact opposite with me giants produce belongs in a dumpster you get 1-2 days with it aldi's strawberries last a good week.

You probably need to choose the produce more carefully. We shop at Aldi every single week. If a certain item doesn't look at good, we skip it.

ALDI sources second tier produce, near expiration , and doesn't refrigerate as much. It's very common for packs of small fruits like grapes and tomatoes and strawberries to have many packages with visible rot, and veggies that look good to be already spoiled but not visible yet

Trade Joe's produce is as expensive or more than big chains except Whole Foods.
Aldi is much cheaper.

I shop at farmers' markets and get 2+ weeks from my produce. At the big chains it can take those 2 weeks just to get to the store. If you buy organic, there's no way it can reasonably last. Even though I pay a little more upfront, it's less expensive if I buy right and avoid food waste. The flavor is so much better too.

We have this issue sometimes at Aldi, at Lidl, and at Trader Joes. It helps a little to look produce over very carefully, but try to eat their produce quickly.

Produce from Walmart, Giant, and Safeway often seem to last longer.

OP here. I now have 6 items unopened that I need to return. It is almost $20 worth of food. Would they even accept this?

I started shopping at Aldi after this happened to my Whole Foods produce. I figure why pay extra for the same quality.

Now I shop at Aldi weekly and buy tons of fruit for my 3 kids and it lasts 5 days 98% of the time.

Isn't apeel supposed to extend the life of the produce?

Aldi is known to sell low quality produce...why do you think it is so cheap?

I only buy organic produce from While Fiods every 3-4 days.

Aldi is cheap for a reason. Their supply chain is based on discounts and near expiration, not quality. I've spent enough times in Aldi and WF to know the difference. People who claim they left WF for Aldi produce are being disingenuous or in denial. Doesn't mean you dont sometimes find good produce in Aldi, but it is never the rule.

Not all produce is equal. Carrots will last a long time regardless of where you get it. If you want to buy Aldi produce, you need to shop and cook within days, not once weekly shopping expecting produce to last till thr following shop.

Aldis produce is not good. I go there to cut costs on other staple foods, and buy the rest somewhere else.

I’ve been impressed with Harris Teeter’s fruit lately. TJs and Amazon Fresh have been busts. Same with our Safeway. Stuff does seem overall to go bad way faster, not sure why.

Apeel makes it look healthy on the outside so you buy it, but then it is tasteless or rotten on the inside.
