Kate Middleton's New Hair

Anonymous
Wigs have become very advanced lately so it’s possible but hard to tell without looking up close. Her style has always been natural and classic so it’s a little off for her. It’s not that bad just not the best fit for her.

The color would look very chic if this was shoulder or chin length. It would be a dramatic shift for her and look less "princess" but I think could be very flattering.

People should wear their hair as they want but I am personally over the long waves. I think wavy texture is great but looks better with a shorter cut. I really like Rose Byrne's hair texture and length, for instance, and think it would look great on Kate:

She was maybe starting to grey so wanted to blend it which I get but there are such classier ways to do that than go brassy. I like lowlights but have seen gorgeous silver highlights as well. Definitely needs cool not warm.

I don’t think it’s a wig, looking at the start of her hairline. I also don’t think she would invite this much scrutiny of a wig by changing her usual hair color.

cancer treatment will do that

+1 I think many people are unaware of the toll it takes--even the pills prescribed for longtime use can have hard effects.

Agree that the color, while pretty on its own, is not flattering for Kate. That length is also typically worn by younger women. The combination of a color that’s too light for her and a length that’s too youthful for her really does make her look older.

It would have been better for her not to debut this new hair color while wearing drab, boring clothing.

Way too long.
When I saw the thread title I was hoping she had a cute new haircut. Did not expect blonde and even longer! Seriously ready for this waist length hair fad to die.

She and I are about the same age and when I see visible proof that she's aged it always makes me feel better than I am aging, even if that's totally ridiculous.

I could see it being extensions and not a wig. Her hair might have thinned out from treatment.

Something interesting and refreshing about the royal women is that they seem to choose to age naturally. No fillers or going under the knife.

Yes, this. It is not the hair making her look older. Also, she's 43. Somewhere in the timeframe I aged pretty drastically without having cancer or cancer treatments.

+1 This is exactly what I thought!

Its to long. If it wasn't curled it would be getting close to her waist. I'm not opposed to long hair on older women but this is to much. She needs to cut at least 6 inches off.

As a wig wearer (alopecia), I can tell you with some confidence it's not a wig. Maybe extensions. I don't think the color is flattering on her. She needs a richer brunette.
