Wedding gown ideas

I had a Thursday afternoon courthouse wedding, so I didn’t want anything “bridal”. I found a fantastic ivory cashmere sweater dress on eBay for about $100. I wear that dress all the time. Definitely look for second-hand, and find a fantastic alterations place.

Best wishes OP!

I just helped a friend find a dress and she got this one:

https://www.nordstrom.com/s/soutache-lace-cap-sleeve-trumpet-gown/8388208?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FDresses%2FFormal&fashioncolor=White&color=903

If you go to formal dresses at Nordstrom and filter by color- they have some great options. If you go to the store- they can order some for you and try on there. They were really helpful at Tysons.

I just went to a wedding like this - summertime so it was a light dress with narrow straps and an overlay of floral lacey tulle - very beautiful and low key and gorgeous and appropriate. Her young adult daughters also looked beautiful - so fun.

I was not a super young bride and i had a dress made and the seamstress made a matching tie for my groom - so fun!

Good luck!

I got my dream wedding dress from Poshmark for $400. I would find some brands you like and then look. The discounts are amazing.

I would look at stillwhite - it’s a site for buying used dresses and the deals are amazing.

I bought a wedding dress from AZAIE last year, and it is good.

I have tried many brands, but I think AZAZIE is the best.

I would not recommend Azazie. They are cheap fast fashion dresses and do not photograph well. I had to be a bridesmaid and wear these.

Anthropologie has tons of sale wedding dresses.

I'm 58 and getting married for the second time. I actually bought the second dress listed by PP from Lulu's (Forever Beloved) and it's great for my needs. The quality was good and it's a flattering cut. We are having our ceremony at a church and then a small afternoon reception at a waterfront restaurant.

So many of the dresses that are trendy are way too revealing for my taste and current body. I was thrilled to find this at such a good price.

That is a really pretty dress. I've never understood why some women think you have to spend thousands to buy a beautiful wedding dress (that you're going to wear once).

I think the two azazie recs were just a PR person and you can ignore them.

Is lulus somewhere people actually shop, or is it just a pr person who recommends it over and over on this site? I never see it recommended anywhere else on the internet. It seems like teenage fast fashion to me.
