Does this outfit sound right? Wedding in the woods

This.
Maine is cool also OP, and evenings can get chilly even in summer on the coast, much less in the hills.

It sounds like they genuinely want you to wear camping clothes?

This wedding sounds 1000% better than a standard wedding.

It would be all tickety-boo except for the biting insects. I love hiking and the outdoors, but I grew up in places without ticks and mosquitoes, and for me those sap all enjoyment of being outside.

Flannel shirt is black tie in woods weddingland?

No dress under any circumstances.

I get that, but I'm not buying hiking boots for a one time hike, and the weather is supposed to be in the 80's, which makes me feel like flannel and jeans will be too hot.

Probably a hat of some sort, too if ticks are a concern.

I would guess this couple does not care at all about what anyone wears to their wedding. Wear what is comfortable for a walk in the woods and wear or bring something for water / beach activities. Bring long sleeves for bugs or cold in the evening. A hat for the sunny afternoon.

You can get lightweight hiking pants but I don't know if that's something you would use again.

Sure. Every Mainer has dress flannel.

The invite says that we should wear "woods" clothing and "shoes you can play in", because we will be hiking into the woods for the ceremony, and that after the lunch, which I think will be a cookout, we can go canoeing, or hiking, or other things, followed by a bonfire in the evening. People are also invited to bring their dogs and a tent and spend the night, but I rented an AirBnB.

I have a shirt kind of like this:

https://www.macys.com/shop/product/style-co-petite-cotton-button-shoulder-tee-exclusively-at-macys?ID=20793976&pla_country=US&CAGPSPN=pla&gQT=1

So basically a T-shirt with a few buttons to make it look a smidge fancier. It's a solid green color that looks decent on me.

I have pants like this:

https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/504199?itemId=252079&attrValue_0=Black&sku=0GGK304002&pla1=0&qs=3156270&pcd=BONFIRE10&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20151164067&gbraid=0AAAAADoqq1LYere0Zi-sTEqakYjYHiBCP&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7Of9qrX8jgMVCF9HAR0TRix7EAQYAiABEgL9cfD_BwE&SN=findability_search_preview_03&SS=A&SN2=findability_trending_searches_04&SS2=A&SN3=MobilePLA_03&SS3=B&noaa_region=northeast&originalProduct=56777

plus sneakers and a lightweight fleece for the evening.

Does this seem right? I am not a "woods" person, so I don't know what "woods" clothing really means. In my mind, I feel like it should mean jeans and a lumberjack style shirt, but it's August so I'm not doing that.

How old are you? Because that outfit screams grandma. Even the model is old.

I'd wear something from TitleNine with socks and sneakers

I'm more of a skort person (with bugspray on my legs) but you may be a long dress or jumpsuit person. I can't pull those off.

I am old enough that I have no problem with looking grandma.

Anonymous wrote:Your outfit is perfect, you want Deep Woods Off (or similar) that you'll spray before you head to the wedding, and wear long socks. Sounds like fun to me, ignore the old fuss-pots - I love that the couple is doing something special to them, and that they are sharing with friends and family. Fuss-pots can stay home and just send a gift!

The top is not "perfect," it is wrong for woods in Maine. Bug bites will eat OP up in that top.

OP, go to Columbia or LL Bean outlet or Eddie Bauer, let them help you find appropriate clothes.

Pants I would do Eddie Bauer Guide pro any color https://www.eddiebauer.com/p/23151062/women's-guide-pro-pants?sp=1&color=Plum

Shoes OP need to be closed-toed hiking shoes. Like Merrills, Timberland, etc.. plenty of these at REI or Dicks Sporting good
