Just wait until your kids from UVA/Emory can’t even score an interview bc they are not one of them. Then we can talk.

It's not hateful or racist. It's fact. There's data on this and several lawsuits.
It's not a criticism of the IT workers themselves. It's management, contracts and implementation of these workers (who quite frankly, would prefer to be leveraged into different jobs as well). It's a terrible situation without a lot of oversight (h1b), completely corrupted from its original intentions, and it's about to get seriously scrutinized.

I think a lot of companies in DC have this IT culture. We hired a VP from this region to run our data program, he proceeds to hire 20 people, all they do is to create Jira tickets, create PowerPoint presentations, create documentations, and it's been 2 years, our initial request for data feed from our service provider is still not done. I am still shuffling 80 spreadsheet files every day.

We are not Frannie, so this guy's future will look less bright by the minute.

Np. How so?

The IT is a toxic landscape of rows and rows of contractors, Indian body shops, take your pick, H1Bs lined up in conference rooms, all pecking away at documents and processes that add little value to the business.

The overhead of people that do not do any real work is absurd. for every productive developer, there are 20 people that do nothing but shuffle paper, plan tasks, update project plans, enter tickets for requests for work, create reports for managing up, create videos for managing down. It really is amazing that so much money can be spent on such unproductive activities for so long that no one cares.

Freddie Mac is the most expensive software development shop in the US.

I have worked with Indian IT developers. They are very good. Unfortunately, they only hire their owns.

I was a tech worker and majority of my coworkers were H1b visa holders from India. I’m here to tell people who may not be familiar with tech jobs. The company lawyers got green cards for each and every one of my coworkers.

Immediately after getting their green cards some left to go get better paying jobs and some renegotiated their contracts to get more pay.

There is absolutely nothing positive for American tech workers when it comes to H1b visa holders. All it does is take jobs from rightful American workers. It is a myth that we don’t have enough tech workers. The only beneficiary is big tech. And every time there were planned layoffs, I never saw a single H1b visa holder losing their jobs.

The Trump admin is doing away with the H1B lottery system, so that should help. It is a bad deal for most Indians, essentially your boss owns you or you get deported, so you get treated like garbage. But yeah if you look at Microsoft firing 12,000 people while applying for 9,000 H1B's they are gaming the system.

The typical urbanmom users are not familiar with H1B landscape. The issue is not that Indians don’t hire outside of their racial group or renegotiated contracts, it’s the fact that they commit massive visa fraud, there are 6 outstanding H1 applications per worker.

That was always the “rule”, you need to familiarize yourself with fraud if you want to talk about fraud in a condescending tone.
