Their IT dept was almost entirely h1bs. They are some of the most corrupt and incompetent people I have ever had the displeasure of interfacing with. Do not hire anyone in IT from these orgs.
Np. How so?
The IT is a toxic landscape of rows and rows of contractors, Indian body shops, take your pick, H1Bs lined up in conference rooms, all pecking away at documents and processes that add little value to the business. The overhead of people that do not do any real work is absurd. for every productive developer, there are 20 people that do nothing but shuffle paper, plan tasks, update project plans, enter tickets for requests for work, create reports for managing up, create videos for managing down. It really is amazing that so much money can be spent on such unproductive activities for so long that no one cares. Freddie Mac is the most expensive software development shop in the US.
I have worked with Indian IT developers. They are very good. Unfortunately, they only hire their owns.
I was a tech worker and majority of my coworkers were H1b visa holders from India. I’m here to tell people who may not be familiar with tech jobs. The company lawyers got green cards for each and every one of my coworkers. Immediately after getting their green cards some left to go get better paying jobs and some renegotiated their contracts to get more pay. There is absolutely nothing positive for American tech workers when it comes to H1b visa holders. All it does is take jobs from rightful American workers. It is a myth that we don’t have enough tech workers. The only beneficiary is big tech. And every time there were planned layoffs, I never saw a single H1b visa holder losing their jobs.
The typical urbanmom users are not familiar with H1B landscape. The issue is not that Indians don’t hire outside of their racial group or renegotiated contracts, it’s the fact that they commit massive visa fraud, there are 6 outstanding H1 applications per worker.
