+1. This is a very nice country and it’s a perfectly nice fair. If you think the county is a dumpster fire then you might not like the fair.
Very telling.

Just go during the day. We usually go weekend mornings, and kids have great fun, then we're gone by afternoon nap time.

It probably does get a little rowdy by the bigger rides on weekend nights, but I've never been there to witness it. There are police all over the place, so it's not unsafe.

But like others said.. watch out in the baked goods section.

Never seen any of that OP, but we go during the day to look at the animals and exhibitions.

It's crawling with police the entire time.

I love the fair. The amusement ride side can have rowdy teens hanging there at night, but I never feared being there with my kids at night. The teenagers are usually only bugging other teenagers. But if you're generally a fearful person, then you might not like that side at night.

The people running the rides can seem creepy but that has always been a universal truth. I have a branch in my family who were carnies/meth heads back in the 80s. They've since straightened out and all live in Jupiter FL (carnival capital) now as millionaires, go figure.

Tren de 4H tattoos.

I'm always amazed at the number of straight up trashy people wandering the fair who are attendees, not carnies. It's like a miniature version of the Ocean City boardwalk.

That said, the fair is fun, especially for kids.

It’s an agricultural fair so if you can’t deal with rednecks don’t go.

That sounds like an interesting story. How’d they make their money?

I figured it *should* be a nice time, but knowing MoCo and all of the insanity that goes on in public schools, I just can't shake the suspicion that the county fair will devolve into a freakshow with tons of fights, shootings, open drug use and other shenanigans that will make it something you absolutely want to avoid with a family. Am I wrong? Worth going to?

Well…the freak show has been a staple of county fairs for like 100 years.

Fair is amazing. Go for the animals and education. Avoid the demolition derby midway stuff

The butter sculpture carving event can be very rowdy... and knives!

Just because demo derby isn’t any good?

Isn’t the midway stuff all the rides and games?

Just stop already with your gas lights, you POS MAGA.

The fair has nothing to do with public schools. Shut the hell up.

The fair is absolutely fine.

Except for Sheehy coopting the Derby with their MAGA Christian Nationalist crap. No one needs a shitty church service at the Derby.
