| I wouldn't. |
| So cute! I love it but probably not for a wedding. |
Brides should not wear white |
| That skirt is hideous. Putting those little frills on the end completely undermines the look of it and makes it matronly. |
| It's fine. |

OP here. Ok, good input.
For context, I am early 50s and have menopause weight going on - It has been very hard to find a dress that has sleeves and is forgiving to my very full bust. Any suggestions on alternatives very welcome. I like the dress I posted but will not wear it to the wedding given the gray area. For those who said it is ugly, fine, but it is hard to find dresses that fit a size 8 body and are not too youthful, have sleeves and do not show cleavage. |
go back and search for fit and flare with long sleeves. saw several nice options! |

This style won't do much for you if you are self conscious about your weight as it has that thin waist. Maybe consider something with ruching.
There's a big area between appropriate for 50s and matronly. Don't dress yourself older than you are. |

A high neck like the one on the dress you posted is the worst for a large bust. Try a V neck or other neck that comes to a point (like a button down, sweetheart, notch neck, etc). FWIW, size 8 is not big compared to the average American and early 50's is not necessarily time to start dressing like a grandma (unless you want to). Some ideas below. This board is full of bored ladies would like nothing more than to find links for you. | I if the colors were swapped so it was mostly navy, I would say yes. It’s mostly white. So no. |
I agree. I'm sick of these blanket "rules". That dress is a print, it's not solid white. And it's also cream, not stark white. That plus the large navy pattern makes it perfectly fine. |
OP, I'm also early 50's and have similar challenges - I think that dress is cute and I wouldn't think twice about whether it's too white for a wedding - it's not. Also, there's a big different between being 28 and wearing white or beige to a wedding, and being 50. Let's face it - neither you or I, at 50+, are going to upstage the bride. Wear some fun, colored shoes and call it a day. |
