How often do you talk to your parents? Text them?

My mom and I talk on the phone daily and we also text regularly. I talk to my dad maybe once every other week.

I talk to my parents maybe once every 2-3 weeks. They live across the country so I see them once or twice a year.

They are in their 80s and their memories are starting to go. Conversations are the same every phone call. They don't really have anything to talk about.

No, it makes total sense. This is mostly an American site, most American adults don't live with their parents. It's totally normal in this context to ask why that poster lives with theirs.

Our adult kids all live in the area. We have a family text going that's active all day every day and we also see each other frequently.

I talk to my parent several times a week. Likewise with my college teens. One kid in military so talk less.

I was the same with my dad. I miss him so much. He used to remind me to call my mom once in awhile- since I saw my dad more (worked in same building/agency) I’d get all the info from him. My dad was my go to - first call for any good or bad news and whenever I needed advice. Since he died, I have to remind myself to call my mom e wet day or so. I call 2-3 times per week. See her about 1-2 times a month.
