What did you like as a kid that you later revisited as an adult and hated?

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Still like them separately, but I can’t imagine why I ever thought they were good together.

Anything with an ingredient list that read like a science experiment.

Canned soup
Frozen ravioli
Spaghetti-os
Pretty much all cereal except rice and corn Chex
Dunkaroos
Gushers and fruit roll ups
Fluff

Stuff I still love ...cotton candy. Especially all the new flavors they have. Banana and green apple Laffy Taffy. Runts.

I think the issue is that the food actually has changed too. So you're dealing with two variables-- adult tastebuds and the fact that the food has gotten objectively worse with cheaper ingredients.

Soft batch were the best. Milk chocolate. I don't think you can get them anymore anyway. So we are spared the disappointment.

Girl scout cookies are all garbage today now.

I think this is it. I still like grossly sweet things but a lot of them just don't taste that good anymore except Carvel cakes. We still get them for most birthdays. Also, OP, if your throat is that sore, get tested for Covid. The new variant is all about a sore throat. [Sorry, had to say it]

My mom didn’t want us to eat canned pasta so we craved it and one of my joys was to sneak to my aunt’s house where there were always spaghetti os and ravioli in the pantry.

Tried them when my kids were little. They are so foul.

Definitely spaghetti-o’s. We used to get so excited when our mom would buy them once in a while. Bought them when our kids were young and couldn’t believe we used to like them. They smelled and tasted awful.

100% the smell for me. I used to love them as a kid and opened a can once just to try when it was just gonna me for dinner and I couldn’t do it-the smell was so bad.

Anchovies - I used to devour the tinned anchovies in mustard as a kid. Can’t stand them now. Also cottage cheese with fruit - I like it alone now or with veggies but not anything sweet. Hostess products - they were the holy grail as a kid but they definitely changed their recipes. Still love Little Debby oatmeal crème pies…

A lot of sweet things (like Twinkies, Cap'n Crunch, etc. ). I don't remember ever thinking something was too sweet when I was a kid.

Thanks for the Covid tip. I was sitting under an AC vent at work- my throat stopped hurting when I left the office.
