What did you like as a kid that you later revisited as an adult and hated?

The theme of this for me is "it tastes like chemicals." Here are three things I happily loved consuming as a child that I then didn't have for over a decade and when revisiting, hated.

1. Carvel crunchy cake (will admit the crunchies are still good)
2. Celentano ravioli
3. Today I am at the office and had a sore throat, so grabbed a Jolly Rancher. Awful! Spit it out.

Basically, I learned to like more pure foods than I had as a kid. Still like ravioli, but now eat a brand where I recognize all the ingredients.

I cannot get behind this Jolly Rancher observation.

Depends on the flavor of Jolly Rancher - watermelon, green apple are good; grape, cherry, blue raspberry are bad. But they rot my teeth.

Instant ramen

tv dinners - we thought they were really fancy, since my mom basically cooked plain unseasoned chicken and steamed broccoli for every meal, so TV dinner chicken cordon bleu or whatever was a revelation

Just add water dried soups for school lunches (see above)

+1 TV dinners. My mom let me pick one out everyone once in awhile. I thought they were brilliant!

Campbells Soup, packaged lunch meat, blech.

Grocery store and convenience store cookies or snacks. Like oreos, chips ahoy, little Debbie anything - they all taste super gross now but I used to love them. I think I have developed a sensitivity to the fake sugars.

Can't think of anything.

I never really liked artificial fruit flavors, etc, probably because they weren't part of my regular diet as a child in Europe. I was given a lot of fresh veggies and organ meats, although I drew the line at lamb brain and raw oysters. Gross texture! Just give me the shell water with lime juice and keep the brains away from me. Ugh.

I still love cotton candy - pure sugar with a little blue and pink artificial coloring is fine

Packaged cookies. The ones that jumped into my head were Soft Batch, but really, any of them.
