Change your Amazon password.

I got re-charged once for a returned item at WF. I saved the return receipt email and sent it in to cust service in chat. Problem solved.

They do have a call me button.

OP here. I hope Amazon has a call me button, if not, I was very elaborately phished.

After writing to reportascam at amazon, ecr-replies at amazon asking why I had received an automatic response that my Amazon fresh in person order was valid when I was no where near Silver Spring that day, I finally got a response after writing jeff at amazon (I guess someone monitors that despite him being on his honeymoon).

After that, the Amazon Fresh order I did not make has disappeared from my recent orders, and I was told to reset my password. I can't see charges to my credit card despite there being an order, so if they were there, I guess they have been reversed. Problem solved (not by the normal customer service channels unfortunately), but I leave the above email addresses in case anyone else is suffering the awfulness that is normal Amazon customer service.

I just had to deal with calling Amazon customer service yesterday. On Sunday six charges for Amazon Kindle books showed up on my credit card. I canceled the card and was waiting for a new card, but that card was already showing on my Amazon account. Then yesterday three more Kindle purchases were charged

I called the credit card company, which then told me that it must be my fault because I must have gotten signed up for some sort of ongoing Kindle subscription, which is definitely not the case. But I was pleased when I called Amazon and the representative immediately made an Amazon refund and discovered that someone ordering from Amazon had linked my credit card to their account fraudulently. I’m not sure if it’s over with for good, but I was surprised to have a good customer service experience with them.
