I think the world will keep spinning. Most LACs are perfectly fine and don’t do much research. -LAC parent. |
All 3 are low, surprisingly the was DCUM swears Rice is better than the schools ranked near it. |
I don’t trust the Northeastern ranking…school probably fudged its submitted stats. |
This is hilarious. |
Are you embarrassed Penn state is 71 |
Top 10 for “Schools with pipeline to The Street” though, so… |
You've got it completely backward. Northeastern is one of the most trustworthy schools. They have been straightforward, open, and transparent, and never accused of cheating like many many other schools. You should be suspicious of schools like Emory, UCBerkeley, Columbia, etc. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/investigations/c...nkings-flna1c8964083 https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/uc-...e-list-misreporting/ https://www.wtvr.com/2012/08/19/emory-univers...lsifying-test-scores https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/sep/...ngs-michael-thaddeus |
LACs do well in the high school rankings. |
These are lower than expected...
Gatech-79 UIUC-109 CMU-126 Perdue- 173 Rice-219 |
Those darn chicken people shouldn't be competing with the likes of Purdue University. |
And meanwhile the University of Washington in Seattle comes in as the 8th best university in the world. I can see why schools like Rice and Dartmouth score low - they hardly have any graduate students, but are still universities. But I am mystified by these rankings none the less. It reads like a list composed by a monkey throwing darts. |
These lists are always hard to understand...UCSF is only graduate programs and mainly health sciences and Icahn School of Medicine is a medical school.
|
Surprised Cornell ranks so high globally (#16). Impressive. |
Washington is highly ranked in many areas of research, especially statistics, data science, computer science. As someone in the biological statistics realm, it is only beaten by Harvard for accolades and research output. Nothing mystical about it. |
Not really, I take global reputation into account when discussing these schools. In Rices peer group its the weak. WashU>Vanderbilt>Emory>CMU> Dartmouth>Rice> Georgetown> Notre Dame |
