Texas A&M is a great school, but probably a little conservative for DC people. It's a very red, white, and blue Texas school.

The majority of DCUM does not go to Texas for school, even if the school are good. At our MCPS school, the large oos publics are still doing well. Florida, Georgia, and S. Carolina have several kids going to them, but many are also choosing Big 10 schools.

Aggie here, and my son recently graduated. It’s difficult to get into OOS, just like Texas.

Texas gives vast majority of spots to in state students. Guaranteed admission for top 10 percent; Texas is 7 percent I believe.

As is Duke, UNC, UVA, VT, Cal and Stanford (at least everyone wants to go to Stanford though few get in), Ga Tech, Wake, BC

It’s not even close…ACC schools are way more popular in the DMV.
