Here's a hot take, you are a complete imbecile looking for "hot takes" on u-little soccer. Maybe you will grow up some as the kids grow up.
I hope you were drunk when you thought this post was a good idea. |
Bro… You alright? Partying with Musk? Did SYC 2014 boys make your 71 other genders jealous? Is there a bracket with 70 other genders to check? Please opine oh infinite wisdom one. I will hang up and listen. America is now great again thanks to your tutelage! |
| We had good super y games this weekend. Fun relaxing games, local fields. |
Nobody mentioned anything about politics. Grow up. I voted for Jill Stein, not that it matters or is your business. And no, this isn't a flex so don't start with that tish. I have zero to so with SYC boys. What is your interest in the 2014 SYC boys team, friend? If your kid isn't on that team why would a grown adult bring them up out of the blue? Please enlighten us? |
Clown 🤡 |
| Fighting over U-littles is not the flex you all think it is. Once you get a few more years into this process you will realize how stupid you sound. Let the kids develop for a few years. All of us with older kids would be laughing hysterically at you if we didn’t realize the damage your overconcern is causing to the development of your ulittles. |
I like the word enlighten because it is appropriate. I brought up SYC 2014 boys to refute the original statement that “it looks like every single local (?) team that when to Utah for u8-12 got crushed.” Bethesda also placed 3rd in their group representing the DMV well and did not get “crushed.” Now, for the enlightenment. My kid was asked to guest for a team outside of the DMV (another player from DC won the championship guesting for a club outside of the DMV as well in a different age group). I had never even heard of the tournament until we got this request to guest play and our plans were already set. I have been following both Bethesda and SYC boys as they are the only two teams in the tourney that I have seen multiple times and know their skill level. I have determined that it may be actually worth my “investment” next year. It appears to be a high level of competition based on what you get locally which is good for kids looking to compete AND IF YOU HAVE MONEY TO BLOW (aka “investment”) after the 529 plans and CESA savings accounts for college have been maxed for the year. In ending, none of this really matters at all until 11v11 and puberty sets in but let’s slow down on the public judgment of uLittles and the parental decisions of people who can AFFORD to splurge on these activities. |
Old Line really breaking up? I heard they were largely moving as a group to a GA or ECNL team in MD. I’ve heard Coppermine, Baltimore Union, Baltimore Armour, and Pipeline all floated since early fall. |
Sure, but they're not Old Line anymore are they? I have no clue where they're going, but it's not Old Line |
I had the same thought. Having watched the Veos of some of the Utah Super Copa matches, 2014 SYC boys could have played local 2013 USL-Y this past weekend and had roughly equal competition within the DC metro area. But there are other reasons to do tournaments like this. In a way, by paying for the travel at this age, the families of the team are subsidizing the brand of the club. But promoting the club brand can also benefit some of the kids. |

Dragging (paying thousands of dollars in lodging, airfare, food, rental cars ect…) for 8-9-10&11 year olds to play in Elite quasi ‘National. Championships’ can be e very damaging to motivating them to play hard in the future. Honestly, it is all down hill from there.
You are essentially, making your kids peak too early. It is a very natural phenomenon that happens to elite athletes. Athletes who participate in something so big, tend to fizzle out and lose motivation as they have reached the pinnacle if their sport. Clubs that stage their teams to these events are not looking into the long-term well being of these players. They are only looking for club recognition to get more kids to sign up. And the clubs that utilize lots of high level guest players only care about wins. From a sports psychology standpoint, these events seem to hinder development more than they help for these ages. |
My kid had fun. |
If that is what it "looks like," you need a new eyeglasses prescription. Let's take u10 (2015) boys, for example. Coppermine, SYC, and Bethesda each finished second in their groups (losing only one game each to some of the top teams in the country), with SYC and Bethesda advancing to the final 4 and Coppermine narrowly missing out by losing in PKs. Then, in the final 4, SYC lost in PKs and Bethesda lost by one goal to the eventual gold champion. For u10 girls (2015), SYC went 3-0 in their group and GFR went 2-0-1 (but both losing in the knockout stages), while Bethesda went 2-1 in their group and won all three playoff games to win their bracket. And in the u11 boys (2014), SYC went 3-0 in the group only to lose in the playoffs. Also, there is no u8 in this tournament, so clearly you aren't paying attention. Long story short, almost all of the teams that went represented the DMV very well against some of the other top teams in the country. |
Umadbro? |
No, think he/she was just correcting the previous posters moronic and uninformed comments |
