Rehoboth beach- cost and the economy

OP here. Maybe y'all haven't been to Funland yet this year. The carousel is 3 tickets. So if it's a 2 year old and you have to hold them it's 6 tickets. Tickets are 75 cents each so $4.50 a ride. That's a big jump

Maybe vacations just aren’t in your budget. None of your complaints strike me as complaint worthy.

OP, things are more expensive - I've noticed it in parking and the arcade games. Funland lets you buy tickets in advance. But, things had to jump sometime. The beach can be expensive, but as others have said there is a lot of flexibility in what you do.

at some point, it IS cheaper to just fly to a resort for fewer days not not worry about these things.

The Rehoboth hotels are ridiculously expensive for what you get! Beach sucks now and the whole place is overrun with people.

We decided to stop going to Rehoboth and pay just a little more to go to the Caribbean in the summer instead. Totally worth it.

Yup. I can get cheaper tix to Portugal and cheaper housing there than a week at Bethany at this point.

It's very expensive there we just got back. Not sure it was worth the cost if I'm honest.

Yet it's busier than ever so it's apparently worth it to some people.

Ice cream cones are $21 at most resorts and street parking is $15/hr? No

agree - there are many times we looked a a few days at the beach and decided on another vacation instead.

We only stay for 5 nights in a hotel now because a house that I’d find acceptable to stay in costs $15k for the week, and I am not willing to pay that for Rehoboth.

Parking at most resorts is $50-$60 a night and you usually do not need a car. We rent one for convenience.

I think the room was $650 a night. I love Rehoboth and keep going back, but it would be cheaper to fly to Cancun for the beach.

$650 for a mid Atlantic beach hotel is wild, we’re staying at much nicer places in Europe for way less than that.

The Hamptons now has two million dollar summer rentals.

BTW in 1995 I was spending 20K for whole summer on my Hamptons Summer rental today in 2025 some very high end Hampton rentals charge $20,000 a night

it is also prices are up. My crappy beach condo I paid $290K for in 2013 is now worth $590k. Todays buyer if bought to rent out would have a much bigger mortgage at a much higher interest rate and would at least want double per night then I charged in 2013
