To be fair, it's kind of hard to interview a minor who is in the custody of federal officers, but you should feel free to try and let us know what you find out.

I do wish we knew more about the kid who was taken, if only to support his/her family and our broader community. But it's not my *right* to know that, nor do I doubt the word of the Latino student group organizing this protest.

I think the ^PP was stating that those kids who are walking out probably never even spoke to the deported kid. But, that's not a requirement to protest against an injustice that they feel is happening.

I have a Blair kid who will be walking out, and I asked if they knew the deported kid. They said no, but that they knew kids who knew him, and that the Latino student group had specifically asked for white US citizen kids to participate as an act of solidarity AND because the risks of protesting are much higher for undocumented kids, or kids from mixed status families, or kids with asylum status, or green card holders.

Perhaps it’d be useful for them to law the laws, and how you work to improve them. It’d be more effective than behaving like disgruntled toddlers having a public temper tantrum. What’s their goal?

You're an idiot and clueless, otherwise you would have known that his/her demographic is the biggest at the school.

Nice namecalling. yes, I know wthe school well. Its just ironic people here pretend to care about these families only after something bad has happened.

Remember to wipe your frothing spittle. Sorry you're scared that people are fighting back against your fascism.

Thank you PPs who have managed to make the team "n****r lover" relevant again. You're real pieces of work.

Why is anybody bothered by a peaceful protest by students?

Thank you to the prior poster who explained the need for the support of white US citizens.

They should keep that same energy for when the protests are directed at them.

What protests aren’t allowed? Be specific because I think you erected a straw man.

I know, right? These guys are so stupid. I only care about families after something good happens. That's where the profit is!

Guaranteed peaceful? Lovely.
Kids need to learn that.

No, I didn't. I'm speaking from experience.

And you if you don't want to believe me, that's fine. This is an anonymous forum. You don't know me, and I don't know you and I therefore have nothing to prove to you.

That’s very thoughtful and strategic of the student group organizing. The kids are alright.

I support them wholeheartedly.

He was in the country illegally. He got deported. What's wrong with it? Why are my tax $$s paying for the education of illegal immigrants?

Would someone here please explain how this country will maintain a social safety net and robust public education system, while simultaneously having an open border? Really think we need to pick one or the other.

Controlled, legal immigration used to be a LEFT wing position that protected the welfare state and the wages of the working class.

Uncontrolled, illegal immigration is a lovely situation for corporations that want to pay slave wages with no safety guarantees to workers and zero benefits and zero job stability. I think every so-called "progressive" on this board needs to think about the consequences of the position they're advocating for here.

Obviously it’s not possible to have both, but people are driven by feelings and virtue signaling now.

“ We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States, undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently and lawfully to become immigrants in this country".

That was Obama; I’m sure this forum would label him a fascist.
