Any chance we'll hear back about AAP appeal by May 31?

Got in. But stunned. I guess miracles happen.

This is for 6th grade if it gives anyone hope.
My timeline:
Didn't apply for 3rd.
Rejected for 4th. Took the WISC at Mason but scores weren't stellar 94%.
Appealed without sending the WISC. Still not in.
Skipped 5th.
Decided to go for 6th.
Didn't get in.
Appealed and sent the old 3rd grade WISC since I figured I had little to lose. Also wrote a good letter and sent decent samples.

So if you didn't get in, don't lose hope ... try again.

How were the HOPE scores. That has to be the only reason a child with these scores wouldn’t get in. HOPE scores should only be included as a value add to find students that testing misses, not to keep out 99th percentile children. Please reach out to your principal to request principal placement into the AAP class.

What! Can't believe it. I am also disappointed but I guess it is what it is.

What! Can't believe it. Did your child get into part time? This score looks very solid...

Agree those scores are excellent. It must be the HOPE. Reach out to your school, politely and seeking help, not criticizing, to understand how a student that seems to exhibit such strong potential does not qualify. You may get the runaround and cold shoulder, or you may also get actionable intel and empathy. At least try to get on the next year's teacher's radar in a positive way so they actually notice your child (assuming that didn't happen this year) and can thoughtfully complete the HOPE for them.

Everyone seems to put their eggs completely in the test scores alone. While important of course, you had better be submitting work samples that are Rube Goldberg quality… and the screening committee seems to have an uncanny way of knowing if it’s the parents “helping”

129/130 is not a high nnat score

My child got in on appeal with very good work samples. A short story, poems, math puzzles, and creative writing/art
