Right, because everyone who enjoys a glass of wine at night is immediately an alcoholic. Do your children know how dumb you are? |
Yeah, see how nice your life is with end stage liver failure..... It's horrendous. |
Wait 6 months and the guidelines will change. Is this your first experience with “science?” |
Italy and France have life expectancies 5 years longer than ours. |
A glass of wine at night isn't going to give me liver failure. But thanks so much for your concern. It's very touching. |
| We can have a conversation about alcohol on DCUM because there’s too many children of alcoholics on here that think one drop is too much. |
| Interesting how the first response answered OP’s Q and all the rest are just soapbox rants. |
They also have higher rates of alcohol associated liver failure. |
| To answer OP'S question, no, your tolerance will increase, unless you drink enough to cause liver damage, then your tolerance will drop. |

I'm with you! My dad lived until he was 93 and had a shot of vodka every day. He used to laugh at people who didn't drink who died much younger. I must be an alcoholic b/c I drink wine every day. Do I think alcohol is healthy? No. But I also don't eat any processed food, work out every day and am thin at 56 so pick your poison. |
Eh....In 2022, researchers released findings that alcohol actually shrinks your brain. If you have ever experienced a family member suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's, this alone should make you think twice about drinking regularly. https://penntoday.upenn.edu/news/one-alcoholic-drink-day-linked-reduced-brain-size |
Based on the number of people I know who didn't drink and had dementia or Alzheimer's, I think I'll take my chances. Ms. Morality police, are you telling me that you are a healthy, in shape, grow your own food person, because if not, don't lecture us. I have an incredible social life. Having a blast in my 50s. It was worth it! |
I have a science degree. So no, it is not first experience with “science.” |
