Is this the brain worm talking?

The study says in randomized study, GLP--1 drugs showed increase in metabolic activities ---

“This study challenges the main narrative about these newer treatments which is that they simply make you eat less, and that any action on energy burn is minimal.

“The findings also provide science to support the fact that the treatment of obesity is not simply to eat less and move more – that’s the prevention piece – treatment is more complex than that.”

In the randomised controlled trial, which involved 30 patients, those who had low metabolic activity before starting treatment benefited the most from medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy and Monjaro.

It is not lizard venom.

You haven’t read the articles all the way. The research was learned from Gila monsters, but it’s not a substance from Gila monsters. It is a hormone we have. Glp 1 drugs helps produce extra.

I am slim-ish and it's really really hard to stay that way - under 1200 calories a day. Now I'm thinking I should go on this so I can eat more. Sounds great!

That's less than a pound a week?

Being overweight is also bad for your gallbladder

Thanks Op for sharing ! I have been wondering about that (do GLP-1s just force you to eat less or is there another effect). And it is really good to know..

Now the problem is that it makes it even more tempting for someone like me. In my 40s and thin-ish but can’t lose the belly pouch and always on a diet to maintain my current weight 😣

Yes if you are insulin resistant that will happen. A glp 3 would probably be better.

I’m 20 lbs overweight and eat about 1400 calories a day. I have been so tempted to try the meds but I’m terrified it would make my current constipation issues even worse.

I’m 158 at 5’0” and a family history of type ii. But I eat to actively avoid it.
Annoyed by people with the small belly pooches.

I could probably eat worse for a year then qualify for coverage. But I won’t do it.

You could definitely get it prescribed and since you’re technically obese your plan might cover it

I am technically obese and BCBS refuses to cover it so I pay $500 a month.
