Commuting becomes a taxpayer problem when you have dedicated professionals who would work unpaid overtime at the end of the day to get everything finished...but now they are working their exact shift and not a minute more to avoid getting stuck in traffic.

I’ve seen this type of statement more and more lately. It’s confusing, because one cannot universally apply this logic to the myriad of jobs that can be done remotely. I’ve concluded it must be an uneducated person who cannot understand what automation, AI, or even telework means.

It's silly to have this discussion and not acknowledge that plenty of people abuse WFH. RTO should be based on individual productivity and not a blanket rule. But as a society, there are benefits to being in the office, from the local economy to people interacting with each other in real life. I think hybrid schedules are the best balance.

I love RTO! Being at home all the time was isolating. I miss the social aspects of work. There is also a lot of institutional knowledge that doesn’t get shared in a WFH situation.
