Why does the city allow this? Wrong. MPD is not subject to parking regulations in DC. Orlando PD is.

That's why only Sheriff's are still supported by the majority of the public, as they are elected to office locally and must abide by local norms.

Also Sheriff has jurisdiction in their county, and can arrest anyone in their jurisdiction, feds, foreign UN, military, etc. as well as deputize anyone they wish to form a posse.

Theoretically, yes. But historically it brings a lot of drunkenness and rowdy behavior. I’m not anti-cop, but hate police week.

I don’t love police week and I think it’s a debacle how drunk they got, but it is to honor the police who died in the line of duty throughout the last year.
