I am moving $100k into BTCFX through my TSP Mutual Fund Window (MFW) AMA

Why am I late? Is it because you think we’re so far into the 4-year cycle post halving timeframe seen in previous cycles? Essentially, are you saying that we can expect more growth of Bitcoin for a short while and then a crash in like late 2025 based on historical precedence? Something like that?

The post halving timeframe has expanded to 7 years now that we are in the full moon cycle of Aries. That's just science.

Yes, was also in SMPIX in addition to BTCFX. My returns were higher than the core funds.

Nah, he's still early. BTC still has a lot of runway before take off.

Dipping your toes into a bitcoin ETF is a good first start. I'd encourage you to study bitcoin (The Bitcoin Standard book is a good place to start; as well as Broken Money) and consider the benefits of taking some of your BTC investment into self-custody with actual BTC. It's the difference between holding physical gold and holding a gold ETF.

I’m concerned about “the cycle” and when Bitcoin may do its usual crash. For now, I am reinvesting my dividends into more BTCFX. But concerned that late 2025 or early 2026 we may see the top and then a crash…who fking knows. It’s all a crap shoot anyway. I like the idea of SMPIX. Semiconductors are good.

He’s late in the sense that he waited for BTC to hit 100k before buying, I know many people who bought some under 1k.

Ah, ok. I thought you meant late for the currently “scheduled” cycle boom and bust. You’re just talking sort of broadly. Okay, welp I feel better. Bitcoin is going to a million plus, so I don’t feel too bad. In maybe 10 years, but still. It’s going.

The schedule has changed now that we are in a pre-post halving world, but post-full moon phase in Aries. There may not be enough zeroes in computer systems to handle how high BTC will get.

That’s awesome. How’s the CD you bought? Getting any good interest on it?

Halvings become less and less important as the block reward gets cut in half every 4 years, aka exponential decay. IMO they’re already irrelevant.
