I am moving $100k into BTCFX through my TSP Mutual Fund Window (MFW) AMA

Is it risky? Yes. Does fortune favor the brave? Yes. Is Trump pushing crypto hard. Yes. Has Bitcoin gone up like crazy since inception? Yes. Will it continue or is it all tulips? Who knows.

I moved a bunch of money from my C and S funds and am going to buy the only bitcoin futures mutual funds available in the TSP window “BTCFX.” It pays insane dividends. Guess we’ll see how this plays out.

I, too, jumped on the MFW opportunity and had about $50k in BTCFX. It has taken a hit but it’s climbing again. Last year, I raked in $3500 in dividends in BTCFX and over $2000 YTD.

38, GS14 here about $470k in my TSP.

I have a big chunk of retirement sitting in BITO, and it's been kicking off on average $6k/month (which i invest in non-crypto funds). I don't want to hold a bunch of BTC directly because I think it's as likely to go to $20 as $1 million, but the futures have been a nice income play.

My husband did this in 2020 (not with 100k though) and I, annoyed, used an equal amount to buy gold coins. Guess who came out ahead....

I’m 35. $380k in TSP that was 80% C and 20% I.

I figure the dividends will flow from MSTY and maybe I can sell down the road for more C fund later. Who knows. Cathie wood thinks BTC will be at $1M in 2030.

It’s always gone up even with volatility and crashes. It’s gotten much broader acceptance as an asset class in the last few years.

So yeah, I threw $90k at MSTY. Let’s see what happens.

Why am I late? Is it because you think we’re so far into the 4-year cycle post halving timeframe seen in previous cycles? Essentially, are you saying that we can expect more growth of Bitcoin for a short while and then a crash in like late 2025 based on historical precedence? Something like that?

Sorry I meant I borrowed from C fund to buy BTCFX. Which is the only Bitcoin related fund in the MFW.
